Life Coaching for Teens

Why would a teenager need a coach?

Are you kidding me? Teens are sponges, so full of life, willing to have a go if only someone was there to listen, spur them on and help them make sense of things. It is crucial to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit within every child. Encouraging them to achieve their goals at a young age will help them continue to do well in the future and give them the inspiration to see their ideas come to life.

Having worked as a teacher for over ten years, I find it easy to quickly build rapport with teens. They are comfortable enough to discuss their issues and are open to working with me from our very first session. They know that I have their best interests at heart and a neutral outlook whilst making their goals my number one focus.

Teen coaching
I personally work with your teen, one on one, for a minimum of six weeks. We work together for one hour each week entirely focused on the things they want to achieve. Most of my students are looking for the confidence to be able to achieve their goals in education, and in their family and social circles. They are mini adults with their own concerns. During our sessions, we discover who they really are, create a roadmap to get them to where they want to be and build achievable milestones that we’ll celebrate along the way.

Here are 10 common reasons why teens would use a life coach:

  • Confidence building
  • Social interaction
  • Self-esteem
  • Motivation
  • School difficulties (work/conflict/overwhelm)
  • Stress management (exam or personal pressure)
  • Negative beliefs
  • Family or friendships issues
  • Divorce/separation
  • Anxiety (alternative management)

This is by no means an exhaustive list and through interactive conversation I will help your child identify their issues. Together, we’ll find realistic solutions to get them over their stumbling blocks and back onto a path towards a brighter future.

Ideally, your child will be between the ages of 13 and 19 – any older and they are considered adults. As with my adult clients, conversations are confidential. This allows your child to speak freely and swiftly clear blockages that have been preventing development in the past.

As a parent, you’ll be given a progress update at the end of each session. However, as a responsible coach I’m obliged to pass on any concerns that need to be reported to child protection services. This rarely happens but it would be irresponsible of me if I failed to mention it.

I am fully DBS checked and, where possible, I can visit you at your home or a chosen agreed venue. I also offer phone or virtual sessions for clients who live further away. With you, as parents, working with me, helping your son or daughter with action activities between sessions, you will see amazing positive changes in your child.

Student workshops

I have had the pleasure of working with many schools across the UK delivering fun filled impacting educational workshops for students aged 9-19. These workshops are run for classes of 30 to 150 students and are aimed at improving the quality of educational the experience a student will have.

Each workshop is highly interactive, motivational and above all has a lasting impact on students, giving them the confidence to be responsible for moving forward.
