Plan for Success

Fail to plan and plan to fail is how the saying goes and it’s true. When you know something important is coming up and you don’t plan for it, you’ll usually find yourself in a flap when the time comes.

No one says you should have everything mapped out to the letter, but it would be a good idea to have an outline of how you would like things to go. The reason we have weather forecasts and traffic reports is so that we can plan ahead and make adjustments along the way. Sportspeople turn up for every practice. They go over the game plan to ensure the best possible outcome for their teams. During the game however, they make necessary corrections along the way to get back to the game plan. What you’ll notice is, the team with the best preparation is usually the team that wins. You can see it in their coordination and cohesion between the players.

So if you know you have an important date coming up start making plans to get yourself ready for the big day, involve others who can help you and create milestones to encourage you along the way.

Here’s how you can get started.

In my book The Path To Success we give you all the tools you need to make sure all your plans are successful. Here’s a few pointers to get you started.

  • Make a list of the important dates and events coming up for you in 2019.
  • Make a list of the things you need to do to ensure a positive outcome for each of these
  • Turn your to do list into mini milestones by adding a ‘by when’ date

Do this once a month every month and 2019 will be a great year! What will 2019 look like if you could turn your To-Do list into reality?
