Goal Setting

Last week we talked about resolutions and goals. We found that resolutions lack conviction because there is no plan to achieve the action. So how do we set and successfully achieve our goals? Well, first of all we have to decide what it is we want.

It’s a known fact that when you write things down you are less likely to forget them. By writing things down you are not relying on your memory. When you write things down you have a powerful reminder of what it is you want to do.

Write down everything you would like to achieve over the next 90 days. It doesn’t matter how impossible your ideas may seem at the moment, just write them down. We can decide which ones we want to work on later, but for now go wild. If you don’t have time to sit and complete this list in one go, maybe you should have ‘more time’ at the top of your list. Jesting aside, you can keep adding to this list day by day. By taking a few minutes at a time you will be able to build your list.

To give you some encouragement, there is a book I recommend you add to your reading list. It is called The magic of thinking big by David Schwartz PhD. Whatever goal you set, put your mind to, focus on and pursue, you will make progress. Only you can determine how much progress you will make.

Be sure to return next week with your list and we’ll get started on turning your resolutions into achievable successful goals.
