How important is a healthy immune system?

Your immune system is surprisingly more important than you think. If you have a strong immune system your body has no choice but to be healthy. How strong is your immune system?

Athletes are seen to be the epitome of health. However, there have been several reports of healthy athletes who have suffered from fatal diseases. In fact no professional athlete has lived past the age of 100 according to many studies over the years. The word ‘healthy’ is so often misused. Reporters will habitually use the word ‘health’ or ‘healthy’ in place of ‘fit’ or ‘energetic’. The word health actually means free from illness or injury. So, how is it possible that a healthy person suffers from a fatal illness? because something has compromised their health changing their status to ‘unhealthy’

Health is more than physical fitness. Your body has a lot of work to do each day on a cellular level to make sure you function at your best. If you are ‘unhealthy’ your body will do the best it can at that level. If you are healthy your body performs at its best at a much higher level with increased functionality. Notice the difference in energy, focus and achievement when you feel healthy.

How healthy are you? Answer these health questions using ‘yes’ or ‘no’

  • Do you avoid social gatherings or social functions?
  • Do you sleep for less than 7 hours each night?
  • Are you stressed out day after day?
  • Does your lack of organisation cause you to use other people’s pens etc?
  • Do you consider yourself a pessimist?
  • Do you internalise your frustrations?
  • Do you take antibiotics?

If you have answered yes to three or more of these questions you are probably not in the best of health and your immune system is not as strong as it could be. Compromising your immune system in this way weakens the body’s ability to fight disease and rid itself of harmful germs.

What does the immune system do? Your immune system is always on guard and on the lookout for germs and harmful bacteria. It is like having an internal army that battles against illness.  It can even fight cancer cells if strong enough. Immunotherapy is one process designed to do just that. It provides the immune system with natural cells to boost the body’s ability to fight certain cancers such as those found in the prostate. A weakened immune system can increase the risk of all kinds of cancer. Most common cancers are diagnosed around the age of fifty. Getting the right information and acting on this information early on could prevent heartache later in life.

So, how can we prevent diseases by strengthening our immune system? The lymphatic system (known as the drainage system) needs to function correctly in order to flush the sludge from the body. A sluggish lymphatic system leaves the body vulnerable to disease. If the lymphatic system slows it can result in the back-up of toxins which cause disease.

Breathing exercises help relieve tension and loosen the muscles associated with the lymphatic system. Drinking water will assist in flushing toxins out of the body. Increasing the intake of high quality vitamins and minerals will improve digestion and increase energy levels which keeps the lymphatic system flowing and free to work its magic as part of the immune system.

Dr Wallach, the founder of Youngevity is known as the ‘Father of liquid minerals’. He has discovered that the body needs 90 essential nutrients on a daily basis to support functionality and fight diseases including diabetes and cancer. He says “Every man, woman and child needs 90 essential nutrients just to survive, much less to thrive. To put the odds in your favour to live as long as possible, with the highest possible quality of life, you must get these nutrients every day.”

We all need a healthier immune system of that there is no question. But ask yourself;

  • How often do you think about your health?
  • What are your stress levels like day to day?
  • How many prescription medications are you taking?
  • How healthy is your mind, body and soul?
  • What state is your financial life in?
