New Year, New Alcohol Warning

The new year has just begun and already the government have raised concerns about alcohol and health. They are suggesting that abstaining from alcohol at least two days a week will reduce health risks including cancer. Alcohol, when metabolised by the liver, turns into a poison which has a negative impact on your health both physically and psychologically.

Under current government guidelines there is ‘only a low risk of causing harm in most circumstances’ At the moment the daily recommended maximum for men is 3-4 units (a pint of strong lager, beer or cider) and 2-3 units (175ml glass of wine) for women. This may soon change to 14 units per week for both men and women.

This is not new news but it is important news. In an interview with the BBC, the CEO of Drinkaware had this to say; ‘…aside from the well known impacts of alcohol on the liver, broader alcohol-related health risks such as hypertension, heart disease and some types of cancer, are not commonly understood by many people’

The liver is the main organ in the body which eliminates toxins. It has a hard job doing this if you already have an unhealthy lifestyle. If you regularly consume fried foods, takeaways, fast foods, alcohol, medications, social drugs etc, your liver is most likely overworked. So cutting down on the amount of alcohol you consume makes sense. Cutting back on all of the other mentioned foods and medications also make sense.

If your liver is given enough time to rest, it can repair itself. In order for it to do this at a significant rate you must have a clean digestive system. If your liver has had a hard time metabolising food it is most likely backed up.

This is just like an accountant preparing clients for their end of year tax returns, there is a ton of paperwork piled up that needs to be done. Taking a break from distractions will give them a chance to catch up but they are still working hard. Once the paperwork is at a controllable level they get back to the everyday tasks at hand but they have had no chance to rest.

When you take a break from the foods mentioned above, your liver has time to metabolise the back log of sludge that has been sitting in your system. However, one or two days break as suggested by the government is not enough time for the liver to catch up with the work that needs to be done and then continue with other substances that are continuously being put into the system.

The Mayo clinic reported that it can take an average of 40 hours for food to pass from mouth to anus. So, the liver definitely needs to rest not just catch up. One way to do this is by detoxing the body. Youngevity© True2Life© 30 day detox and Premier detox system can help you do just that. It doesn’t just cleanse the digestive system, it also cleanses the liver, using 100% natural ingredients.

You have probably heard of kidney stones before, but did you know the liver also has stones? Liver stones are crystallised particles, that vary in size, and can severely obstruct the liver’s detoxification pathways. These stones can be ejected out of the body without surgery, using detoxification systems such as the True2Life© 30 day detox system or Premier detox system which helps the liver function much more effectively.

Like all things in life, we have a choice. Cutting back on alcohol, having a liver detox and cutting out fast food is a choice. You can choose to live a healthy lifestyle, have a healthy digestive system and functioning liver. Or you can choose to continue consuming alcohol every day, continue having fried and fast-foods on a regular basis and never have a liver detox. This will increase the health risks talked about earlier; liver disease, hypertension, heart disease and cancer.

The choice is yours. We choose life!
